We have problem connecting to the license server. Here's from the Perform Status Enquiry Vendor daemon status (on Crown-Server): adskflex: The desired vendor daemon is down. Check the lmgrd log file, or try lmreread. Vendor:Host: Crown-Server License path: 27000@Crown-Server; FLEXnet Licensing error:-97,121 We were able to resolve this issue. In the LMTools first tab and Configuration using Services selected, we enabled LMTOOLS ignores license file path environment variables. Yes that did the trick with the tick. :)

Fix “Windows cannot access the specified device path or file” Error

Cryptic Windows errors are about as common as fish in the sea. I’ve previously written about many strange Windows errors, such as: Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted Instruction at referenced memory could not be read “No more system PTEs” error (stop code 0X0000003F) Etc, etc! In this post, I will talk about the different ways you can try to fix the following error: Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have appropriate permissions. What’s annoying about this message is that sometimes it has nothing to do with permissions at all! Here’s a couple of possible ways to fix it, depending on your system. Note : First, restart your computer in Safe Mode (only XP and Vista) and see if you can open the file or programs in question. WeTransfer vs Dropbox

A while back I wrote a guide on using Dropbox to share files. There are other ways to store and share files over the net. Torrent files are rarely used but are a great way to share files, especially very large ones. WeTransfer is another great way to share files. There are other online services that I use to share and store files. Today I’d like to review two of them, WeTransfer vs Dropbox and offer suggestions on when you should use them. These sites offer free and paid services, for now I’ll restrict my review to the free services they provide. Update: WeTransfer now have a pro account at $10/month and you can store the files in the cloud forever.
